John Pross's 1997 TJ

Early July 1996 the transmission in my Honda went out, I was in the market for a new car. I decided on a Jeep, never owned one or any other SUV, big difference. I wanted it because it was a convertible and looked cool. Using it for off road purposes never really entered my mind.

Well, I eventually took it off road and got stuck the first time out. Seven hours, Two Suburbans and one winch later I was out of the mud. The first Suburban made it half way to where I was, it was two wheel drive. The second one had four wheel drive, a lift kit and mud tires. It freed the first Suburban then acted as an anchor for my jeep, the winch worked as advertised. I started asking questions about the big Suburban that saved me and soon started modifications.

The first thing I did was add a lift & tires.

Bryan Austin's 1997 TJ Wrangler

Bryan Austin's 1997 TJ Wrangler

A buddy got me hooked on the Wrangler Jeeps! Still not knowing much, I bought this '97 TJ with 30,000 miles (2 months ago). It already had a 3" body lift, 33' Summit tires and 8.5 rims. I started with Husky mats then quickly upgraded to 33" BF A/T and 10.5 Centerline H/T s. Later upgrades will be a 4" suspension lift and the body lift will come back down to a 1". I would like Full Doors and a hard top! More info later when I know what I'm doing. This puts a damper on my Aircraft Restoration project!!!

Raymond Milot's 1998 Wrangler Sport

I've got a '98 Sport with a stock 4.0L. Currently has a 4" ProComp lift, 4.10 gears front and rear, limited slip diff in rear. Recently installed Currie transfer case conversion kit and adjustable front track arm, and 33x12.50 BFG Mud Terrains. Currently installing a 1" Daystar body mount kit, 1" Currie engine lift and polyurethane bushings all around, removing transfer case drop. Waiting for JKS quick disconnects for both front and rear. Future plans include Warn winch on hitch mount, snorkel kit, electric fans and air compressor. Its only money, right?

6 Cyl. / 4 Ltr. EFI engine, Free flow air filter, Manual Trans., 2" Lift, 8" American Racing Mags with 325/60 15R wide low profile tyres, Two sets of mags and tyres, one with BFG All Terrain, other with BFG Mud Terrain (Same sizes), 6" flared guards all round, Sound bar (Very important), Centre console, to hold the stubbies (Also very important), Disconnectable sway bar arms, And lots of the usual accessories.

I've done over 83K km, with almost half of that on dirt roads or off road. It even made it into an Australian 4X4 Mag, as a feature article. Trekked across Australia and also use it in everyday City travel. It's the best car for all worlds. I love it.
