Details: I got the hi-flo cat after already had
installed Borla header, Flowmaster
muff, and intake/bored TB/spacer combo.
So to complete the whole exhaust system
I purchased from Summit Racing the cat.
I tell ya... not only does it increase
the "cool" factor in the noise
department, but you do get an extra
kick out in accell and overall power.
Definately worth the money!

Product: Bored Throttle Body & Spacer
Model: '97 Wrangler SE
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: peronibros@hotmail.com

Details: Called J&C's for their bored out TB for
my 2.5L Wrangler. They were great on
the phone, and gave me one of their
bored TB for 4 cyls....since they
warned me that a 4.0 TB would make me
lose some low-end torque.
I installed it, and it worked great!
The engine really comes alive when
started, and is "snappier" in
accelleration. Later I had the spacer
(from Poweraid) bored out to 62mm and
coupled with the new TB the combination
is fantastic!

Company: SuperLift
Product: True Speed
Model: TJ (fits all though)
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: shawn_croswell@hotmail.com
|
Details: Superlift TruSpeed. If you have
changed tire size or gear ratioos,
this is a must! I changed ratios from
3.07 to 4.11 and went from 225/75/15
tires to 285/75/16 tires at the same
time. Suddenly, cruising at 60mph
showed 100 on the speedo and the
odometer was clocking 1.2 miles per
every mile I traveled. Not good! I
installed the TrueSpeed from Superlift
to remedy the problem. Excellent
results! An easy 1 hr iinstall by
simply splicing one wire coming off
the transfer case and routing the true
speed to power (fuse box) and ground
(body). After using SuperLifts
included chart for resference, I
simply dialed in my settings. First
results were close but still
about .08% off. A simple
counterclockwise twist and my speedo
and odo are almost perfect again.
Highs: Easy install, works perfectly
Lows: a little pricy at $165.00
Overall:Excellent! A must!

Company: Banks
Product: Cat-Back Exhaust
Model: TJ
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: shawn_croswell@hotmail.com
|
Details: Excellent! However, a little loud. I
don't mind but the GF doesn't like it
too much. INstall was fairly easy-
However, I recommend cutting the old
exhaust in two for easier removal.
Also, old bolts connecting to Cat
Converter seemed almost welded
on...were very hard to remove. Easily
a three hour install if you have a
sawzall to remove the old exhaust. Too
new to calucualte exactly, but does
seem to have opened up the Jeep a
little..definately see an improvement
in 4 and 5th gears. Highs: Sounds good
(to me, not GF), easy install Lows:
Cheesy chrome tip and clamps (I didn't
use them) Overall:Highly Recommend!

for such an old jeep, but once i got
the springs, all i had to do was get
the shackle bushing out of the spring
(to use the stock C-shackle)(even
though they said it wouldnt work and i
hade to buy H-shackles.. yeah right,
the C-shackle worked just fine. AS well
i did alittle grinding to the sides to
fit it into the main-eye mount. I was
very impressed i think it gave me more
then a 2.5 inch lift but i am okay with
that. Very cheap and very good
suspension.

Company: Backcountry Engineering
Product: Backcountry Rack
Model: N/A
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: boldhomer@hotmail.com
|
Details: I've used on of these receiver racks for years to get some extra storage on my Jeep, especially during the deer hunt, but I always bent the crap out of them cause their so low to the ground. Well, I came across this company called Backcountry Engineering and they took a receiver rack and stuck a pair of receiver tubes on the tire swing. It sat about 3ft off the ground on a semi-stck YJ, much higher than other receiver racks. But the really cool part is the rack swings out with the tire carrier giving me full access to the tailgate and lift hatch. I bought one and got it within a week, it bolted straight on and everything line rigght
up to exsisiting holes. The bumper is this one peice of 4 x 4 tube, all the bolts are inside and hidden. Its very clean and smooth looking but I dont know if I like the caps on the end. I'll hav eto see how they hold up. The tire swing is mounted on a 2" solid rod welded into the bumper, its solid with the rack on and me jumping on the rack nothing moves or flexes or sags. I've had 300 pounds on it going down the road and it felt very solid well the rack was solid and my jeep was squirrelly. Anyway I've been very impressed with mine. They must be a pretty new company because I haven't found anywhere other than Ebay (of all places).

Company: Dayton
Product: Timberline MT
Model: 98 TJ
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: digital_aura1@hotmail.com
|
Details: I ordered some new Dayton Timberline MTs to replace some cheapo MTs I had before. These Dayton's are freaking awesome for the price! I ordered the 33x12.50 r15 tires. All I can say is at $125 a pop (mounted) they are worth every penny. They clean out mud and snow VERY good. They have 3 ply sidewalls and 6 ply tread. Dayton is a Bridgestone company and you can tell this tire has benefited from the more expensive tires Bridgestone offers. In my opinion there is no better bang for your buck tire out there which can complete with these. The only bad thing, it took 6 weeks to order these, since they are a new product and were on national backorder. Worth the wait though. Are these tires serious rockcrawling tires? No. But for trail usage and mild rock crawling they are great. Recommended |

Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: digital_aura1@hotmail.com

Details: I installed the Teraflex 3" lift kit (S3T) about a year ago now. All I can say are good things about this kit. The install was straight forward, the hardward included is high quality, and the kit is very complete. The ride quality is better than stock both onroad and offroad. I have received several thumbs up from other Jeep owners and the feedback is always positive. I have Rancho 9000 shocks mounted up with the kit. I give the performance of the kit a 9 out of 10. Just because very few things are perfect in my world. :) Highly Recommended If I had to do it over again, I would go for the Teraflex 4" Long Arm kit. Just just did not have the $$ to do that the first time. |

control arm mounts. Instructions are easy to follow. The quality of the whole kit is excellent. I also put in a tera short shaft kit and cv style
driveshaft. My speedo gear let go after 2 weeks of driving. Tera sent me a new one within 3 days of calling them. I had installed the gear in the wrong
notch. The ride is great. I am running 33x12.50x15 BFG M/T KOs. Be sure to recheck all nuts and bolts as tera recommends. Excellent kit and company.

Company: Dupli Color
Product: Dupli Color Bed liner
Model: 90 YJ Sahara
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: virgil_likes_rum@hotmail.com
|
Details: Check this out before you buy more expensive brands!! I went to my local auto parts store and bought a gallon
of Dupli Color truck bed liner and the installation kit. This was such an easy project to do! The hardest part is the prep work. I pulled out all the
interior and seats and junk out of my jeep and rebolted all the bolts. I then cut masking tape around the bolts to ease removal after the bed liner
cured. I shouldnt have even wasted my time doing that. You could just roll some tape into a cone shape and stick it in the bolt holes. I followed the
directions for sanding and used acetone to remove the clear coat and any wax or gunk. I got lazy sanding though and ended up just using the
scuff pad that came with the installation kit. Application was simple (the first coat should be light and just use the paint brush for this)
and quick. I ended up using 2 gallons and 1 pint because I wanted it really thick. At $39 a gallon it was way cheaper than Herculiner and just as
effective. Road noise has gone down (I put the carpet back in on top of the liner) and this stuff doesnt peel or scratch.
If you decide to do it, be sure and buy a can of the aerosol bed liner too; its so much easier than the brush for tight corners around the roll bar
and stuff. |

Model: '79 CJ-7
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: N8LZA@HAC.ORG

Details: I installed the kit three years ago. The ride really settled down, with no more wandering on the highway. The idea
is to move the spring pivot to the rear of the front leaf spring to lessen the impact on the suspension. We also installed one on a friends '92
YJ with the same results. You need to do some welding to assemble, as well as drilling into the frame. But it's worth the torn knuckles... |

Details: Excellent set of lights! Highly recommended for those of you seeking a set of driving lights they through an
incredible amount of light in two distinct patterns to the side and in a spot out in front of the vehicle. Kit was complete and simple to install.
Only negative I noticed is that the mouse type switch (designed for minivans and leasees afraid to drill their dashes) is for the most part
useless and adds to dash clutter. I would recommend doing what I did and wiring it to a standard illuminated switch, it is easy enough. Good value and excellent performance! |

Details: These units are used to lower full-size trucks. Well Jeep didn't do it backwards like they did and the Shackles work to lift an XJ about 1.5"-
2". They are built for full-size, so they hold up well to the weight of an XJ. They can be picked up for about $30 a pair. I use my Jeep for alot of
mountain driving and have none of the sway associated with "cheap" shackles. I highly recommend using these. They can also be bought in Junkyards for
dirt cheap. I do recommend using poly bushings in your springs though. |

good ride concidering they are on a wrangler, can only imagine the ride on a truck!!! Virtually no roar on the highway.Have had these for about 6000

passengers, or tilt it slightly forward (30 degrees) when no ones in back for a MUCH clearer sound. I find that this
position is perfect for highway driving with the top down, because the sound is directed toward the front, not toward
your Jeep's floor. 70 mph, topless, with cars alongside and I could still hear the cd!! It comes with 6.5 Sony
Xplodes; I use mine with Pioneer front speakers and it sounds great. The adjustable map lights are also very handy. However, this soundbar mounts
differently than most - it clamps onto your center rollbar with a U-bolt - and the place that installed it for me did
it incorrectly at first (but it was an easy fix), so if you get one make sure the U-bolt is in the correct position when installing it. It's more
expensive than the other soundbars out there, but in my opinion it was well worth the money!! |

Company: BesTop
Product: BesTop Oversize Tire Carrier
Model: '99 TJ
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: chrisdewey@alumni.clemson.edu
|
Details: I love the BesTop Oversize Tire Swing!!!
I had originally bought an Olympic Tire Swing, not realizing that it would block the taligate so that it could only opened half way. I have a 15x8 American Racing Kong Wheel with a 32x11.50 spare. Only being able to open the tailgate half way was okay until we got a 95 lb. Yellow Lab!
I got the BesTop carrier locally for about the same as what I had originally paid for Olympic Tire Swing. The instructions were clear and accurate. It is a bit of a pain initially adjusting the tension and leveling it, but the smooth operation more than makes up for it. So far I have not had to make any further adjustments I did tighten the no-slip nuts sooner than I was told to, but that was my bad. They did not want to back off! I lost a little paint in the process, but the lack of bullet-proof paint is my only complaint and it's minor.
The carrier has been absolutely silent around town, but I have yet to take it off road. I can't imagine that rock crawling will be more jarring than dring on stock springs, coil spaces and Dick Cepek shocks! It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the carrier anchors to the base of the sportbar at the top and to the body mount underneath. It's not going anywhere!
Operation is also easy as the carrier moves with the tailgate. It's a lot of weight to move so you're not going to open the tailgate by pulling the latch or just give it a fling, but it swings silently. That would be awkward anyway since your wrist is between the tailgate and tire. Opening the tailgate slightly then grabbing the top of the tailgate works just fine and only requires one hand. You will have to push and pull it the entire way, as there is some resistence. Closing the tailgate can also be done with one hand, but you will want to keep your hand on the gate (or over the latch) as you close it. Otherwise the tailgate bounces back leaving it latched, but not entirely closed. Again, you get used to it and it's a simple, one-hand operation.
Bottom line is that this thing was reasonably priced, easy to install (except for taking out the torx bolts at the base of the sport bar due to lots of factory paint), works well and doesn't take away from your departure angle. I would say it's an excellent product.

Details: I ordered the 31 inch per 9 inch Swamper radials. These tires are just awsome. They fit nice in the stock flares, make a beautiful lil hum between 35/40mph
(music to my ears!), and handle very well. With all the engine upgrades i dont feel any difference in power, except at the green light (but then
again, im not driving a 'Vette am I?). They look great too, almost no one has them in my area, and all the other jeepers look at my baby with envy...
hehehehe... especially when they drive their 4.0L Saharas, and i got my little 2.5L.
I highly reccomend them Got them $110 a piece, set of 5 at www.tyresinternational.com No lift was necessary, and i got to keep the stock full face wheels.

Product: ON_Products Underhood Hi-Lift Jack Mount for a TJ
Model: 1999 Wrangler
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: Wind_Danzer@hotmail.com
|
Details: Another great investment, I was
informed of this product by the owner
of the company after asking about a
good mounting location on another BB.
Most of the weight of the jack is on a
bracket that is installed over the
battery while a second bracket is
installed on the drivers side body that
hold the support rod which supports the
top part. Very stout and it has a good
mechanism to hold the jack in place so
it doesn't rattle and move around the
engine compartment. The jack is hidden
from view, kept clean and dry (provided
you don't fly through a huge mud or
water puddle) and is easily
accessible. The only reason I'm not
using it now is because I altered my
air intake making it impossible to use.

Details: One of the best investments I have ever
made. Not only is it 3/16 steel that
cover the whole exposed area on the gas
tank, it is bombproof and raises the
take a full inch over stock. It also
has a sloped back to help with
departure angles. I have also had the
full weight of the Jeep on it and
nothing more than a few scratches
occured in the paint. Of course that
is to be expected, especally since they
come unpainted and you have to DIY.
Brad Kilby is a joy to work with and I
will be looking forward to all the
other products he will come out with.

good way to carry my spare tire while
also looking for good protection
offroad and on the highway. It has
been on my Jeep now through 5 wheeling
trips, held the weight of the Jeep on a
few rocks and has been backed into a

finish. This rack comes with a Hi-Lift
holder and a CB antenna mount while the
bumper comes with a 2 inch receiver in
the center of the bumper (no loss of
ground clearance!!!), two shackle
mounts and a frame tie in kit.
Provided you could handle the wait for

not even 2 years old yet.....boy was I

Product: Expedition Gurard
Model: 99 TJ
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: Marcg2000@aol.com
|
Details: The bumper and guard look awesome!!
They look like nothing else out there,
the front of the jeep is completly
covered and protected from anything
that you can think of. I have a warn
M6000 winch and that is now behind a
1/4 inch think plate of steel from the
front sides and part of the top. The
bumper hurt my approch angle just a
little bit but not really because if i
approach something at an angle with
just one tire at a time I have almost a
vertical approach angle! The winch is
loacated slightly farther ahead of the
location of it with the warn mounting
bracket, but since it is better
protected i feel fine about it. The
only down falls to the bumper that i
ran into is that it took a LONG time to
come, they said 4-6 weeks but it ended
up being 4 months, partly because the
bumper that i ordered was one of a kind
so i understand that it took longer
than expected but it was still a little
long. It was WELL worth the wait
though. The bumper installation was a
snap, the hardest part was getting the
old bumper and winch bracket off
because the torx head screws and i keep
breaking every torx bit i try. Once
the old one was off it is just a matter
of lining up the winch bracket and
centerpunch the location for the new
screws. i had to redrill some of the
holes for mounting the winch because
for somereason they did not line up
which wasen't easy through the steel
plate, but it worked out in the end.
the guard itself is seperate from the
winch mour for ease of installation,
and is almost endlessly adjustable to
get it where you want it, once mounted
it sticks above all body panels so
incase of that ever dreaded roll over
it will protect the fenders and hood.
The guard dose block some headlight
space but is still driveable at night
which just means you have to get some
good quality lights. After installed
your jeep will look like none other.

Model: 95 YJ
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: Jeepnmike@att.net

Details: I love these shocks! At first I thought that getting new shocks would not make that big a difference but boy was I
ever wrong! I am running a mild RE 2.5 inch lift and 31 Pro Comp MT's (I have reviewed the tires on this site before
under my old email Mjeeps) and had the Doetsch Tech shocks that came with lift kit. I felt the shocks were worn out
because when I would hit a bump at speed the front end would go up and down 2 or 3 times. When I received the
OME shocks after talking to them first to make sure they would fit my application I was impressed with how
beefy they were. They have a two year warranty on them and were massive compared to the Doetsch tech's. They
have this metal clip on them to keep the shock compressed to fit in the box and when you undo the retaining clip
the shock lengthens a good bit for lots of articulation. Installation was easy, just be sure to use lots wd 40 on your
old bolts if they were rusty and muddy like mine were! I also recommend that you use new bolts when installing the
shocks since your old ones are probably like mine and all messed up. The only thing I found is that I had to spread
the lower mounting brackets apart to get the bottom bushings to fit. No big deal. OME also makes a long travel
shock but that would require a new upper shock mount and maybe extended brake lines (M.O.R.E. makes these now for the YJ). |

Details: I was at the end of a very long, frustrating day of wrenching. I had accompl;ished nothing for 6 hours of
work and was ready to quit for the day. I had bought the disconnects the day before but had more pressing problems
to deal with on the Jeep. Before I packed up my tools for the night I figured I'd just read the install
instructions & relax for a few minutes. Well, maybe I'll just pull my bolt on disconnects off so I'll get a jump
start on installing the QD's the next day. "Step one, screw the rounded post onto the lower bolts." Ok. "Step
two..." Ten minutes later I'm done! Every once in a freakin while I come across a product even I can't screw up.
It was a pleasant surprise to find such a simple idiot-proof product. Afterwards I took them on and off a few
times - no problems. I can't hear them on the road. At the end of a long day they really helped to improve my
attitude! Very happy I bought these. |

back from Camp jeep 01' and now I've put about 3K on since I installed and have had no problems, except with
breaking quick disconnects, the Jeep is so high, and naturally wants to flex on anything...literally you must be
careful how fast you go over curbs(for instance when going around someone...whatev) other than that it
rocks, but I plan on swapping out the skyjacker disco's for an antirock swaybar but for now, skyjacker was
happy to replace the discos...overall its awesome! |

Details: I won some money off it at a raffle, so I figured what the hell I want to learn to weld anyway. I slapped it in (great
cust service on tech support) and was able to practice running a few beads, but not much. Soon thereafter, I slid/backed into a tree and tore the
mounting flange off my spare tire carrier. I had no room for the spare in the back. I was at a major 4x4 trail run event.
So I pulled into a staging area, fired it up, used the elec outlet to power my grinder to prepare the thing, and welded away. It worked! A strong,
acceptable trail fix was soon had. Soon I was letting another guy weld a tie rod back together, after having cut some angle iron for him with the
grinder. The next morning at 6:30 am I was welding another guy's differential innards so that he could drive home. So beware - its an excellent product,
but it'll make you friends you never thought you had. |

correct tools needed to install. You dont have to weld anything but I went ahead and welded mine. If you check the
clamps often the slip fit should not be a problem. Tools used: mig welder, socket set, chop saw, sawzal(to remove

Details: The combo was much more than I expected, it is a heavy duty addition that I highly recommend. We had a late
winter trip where we ran into four foot snow drifts fifty to three hundred feet long. Like a dummy I neglected to bring
my rear clevace. I proceded to hook a strap onto my spare tire carrier to pull a co-wheelier out of a long drift.
I heard a pop and thought that I had really messed something up, I kept pulling until he was free. When I
looked at the damage all that I found was that I had popped the sheer pin on the carrier handle. The only thing that
pulled the low rider land cruiser through the drift was the tire carrier. To say the least I was impressed with the timpken
bearing design. The only hints I have is if you are planning to put diamond plate corners on, is to use the spacers
included in the install kit. It will give you the clearance needed for your gas filler. By the way, everything lined
up perfect and was an easy install. |

Details: This is great. After 2 weeks of problems with the shiping price, it finaly got home. Intructions are easy
to follow (although it's just connecting 3 pipes). The only problem was taking the stock muffler out. It took me 2 hours
and 2 days of neck pain. The new one took 15 minutes to install and it sounds great, and you feel the extra hp and torque.
I didn't put the tip because I didn't like how it looked with my Jeep and I didn't want to crush it between a rock and my
bumper. |

easy to do yourself. It was so easy that my friend and I were convinced that we did something wrong. The only thing the
kit does not include are the sway bar discos, other than that you can put it on and go! I only recently did this so
I have not had the time to test the capabilites off-road. I definitely recommend this lift to anybody who wants room
for 32's and doesn't want to spend a whole lot of money (I got mine for about 550). |

from an '85 ford 300-I6 and heavy duty 8.5MM wires. I am not sure if it was the super coil or not but the I think it
was part of it the idle cleared up and the low end seems much better. Before I spent money on the jacobs or MSD to
get the better performance I would buy the Super coil and convert every thing over to the Ford cap and rotor it bolts
right in. I really like the super coil. To find out more about the ford mod see the Off-Road bulleten boards

help and opinions from people who know what they are talking about. I always get my questions answered and the parts
I'm looking for. I started out with a regular p/u truck, then I bought a show truck and they helped me find the right
stuff to compete very strongly at many shows. Now I have a Jeep (TJ) and I'm really thankful that they are there the
ups and downs of offroad with they're vast product selection and fantastic mechanics. I think it's one of the best
to go to for parts for anything from a Jeep, muscle car, import, monster truck, lowrider, and on and on. I've seen
some pretty sweet things roll out of they're garrage. Check out their web site for more info I think it's worth

improved my ride...Seriously. I had a pair of Pro Comp sway bar extensions prior to these and the Sky
Jackers made a huge improvement. ONE NOTE HOWEVER, the pins used to disconnect are a little snug and seem to be
somewhat of a burden, nevertheless, I have been told that these will begin to loosen up after a few miles on the

Product: Firefly CB 3ft ant.
Model: 93 YJ
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: erc114@excite.com
|
Details: Good antenna, reasonable performance for such a shorty mounted on a bumpstop. It is a very durable antenna
and has taken numerous hits from branches without a problem (note that I do have it on a spring), it is also
thin enough it has a rather attractive look on the Jeep compared to its full weight sibling. Surprisingly it doesn't
beat the top much and has only done so on one occasion Since January and that was driving 80mph with 30mph plus
crosswinds, this is acceptable IMHO otherwise even at fairly high speeds and sudden stops it hasnt hit the stop.
My only complaint was it came up with a very high SWR upon initial testing (which was easy to tune out with the
tunable tip) which was surprising since they claim they should be between 1 and 1.5 out of the box and this was with a
firestick matched cable system. The biggest contributors to this condition could be the spring. Overall an
excellent product and I would buy one again though I may step up to the 4ft. JB's Jeep Acc. Grade: A- |

Well thought out brackets, good product. It does require that you research and execute the plumbing and

and also comes with a heavier differential cover with a drain and fill plug, thus eliminating the hassle
of removing your cover to change the gear lube. So if your looking for for a hassle free, heavy duty, 100% lock up

Details: I recently purchased a Ford LSD (8.8 31 spline)on ebay, only to find out that I
needed a different carrier to be compatible with ABS. In utter dissappointment(since I had my truck
torn apart, and I'd replaced the carrier bearings) I decided to order a Powertrax No-Slip unit. Installation
was very easy, and the unit is performing as advertised. My truck is a manual transmission, so I do feel a
bit more drivetrain looseness, but after a week or so of driving, it's barely noticeable. It is quiet, and
performs very well. During normal operation, it performs like an open differential. Only when turning off of
a side road, or out of a parking lot into traffic, under moderate power, do I feel some tire "chirp". Other than
the no slip, my truck is bone stock. I highly recommend this unit to anyone who is looking for the ultimate in
traction, with minimal side effects. P.S. Look for the LSD on ebay. |

Details: After all the discussion over the Bosch plugs. I decided to up my schedule and
get a set. I have used these before in the 4.0L engines with pretty decent results though I had forgotten how much
of a difference they made! The vehicle feels much more responsive, I dont know if I gained any horsepower but the
vehicle runs quieter, accelerates faster and smoother! I am very very impressed! Though i can not attribute
all of these gains to the plugs as they guy who had the vehicle before me had them gapped terribly varying from so
small it was ungaugeable to .060 and the plugs were mixed manufacturer....ugh.
From my experience these are an excellent addition to a Fuel injected Jeep! Definitely worth the little bit of
extra cost! Take care good luck! |

Details: I bought matching front and rear bumpers from Quadratec. The construction detail is good, not great,
but the materials are very beefy. I had to use washers for spacers on the rear bolts that go into the factory
bumper bracket to keep from bending the bracket when I torqued the bolts. Both bumpers lined up perfectly with the
bolt holes. I only have two complaints. First, the rear receiver hitch pin hole was drilled too high and
I had to grind it out a little to get the pin through. Second, there is no place to mount the license plate on the
front bumper. I drilled two holes to the side of the receiver to accomodate this. All in all, it's a great value
for the price. |

Install was very simple though they did short me one wire puller so I had to

Installation was a breeze except for lining up the spacers on the frame rails while trying to lay the winch
down on top. I would recommend using some art putty to stick the spacers down. This past weekend I had to use
the winch on a rock that had me in a crevice pointing the front end to the sky. All the weight of the jeep was on
the cable and it just kept pulling. You must also purchase the winch accessory kit to go with it. The clevis hitch and
snatch block are first rate and are very strong. We had to use both help a fallen Samurai and they did their job.

Details: This lift kicks....the flex is excellent, and the ride on the road is
great. The 3 or so hour ride to Moab is soft but still firm enough to not be all over the road. The 3 inch lift
with the 3/4 inch spacers(i have a 9000 lb winch)lifted my Jeep a little over 5 inches. I run 33x10.50x15 BFG AT KO's
on stock 5 hole Jeep rims....at full flex there's still a little room before the tire would hit. I would also like
to add that the BFG AT KO's are really great, great all around tire, quiet on the road, wear well, excellent wet
traction(rain or snow) and great off road. There may be better off road tires.....but if your looking for a
great set of tires for your daily driver and you don't want to have 2 sets of tires, these will would be the

|
Details: The product is used for protecting automotive finishes during body
repair. A pink liquid that drys clear, then washes off with high pressure water or hand washing. Coat all areas
of the vehicle prior to going into the dirt and it will help resist scratching from brush and at the end of the trail
go to a car wash and you have a clean bright finish! The draw back is the finish will draw dust to the surface so
your vehicle will look a 'dirty' when ran off road, so what! The other is use in extreme wet conditions reduces
the effectiveness. But for dry conditions with few creek crossings, you can not beat this, especially for
the more aggressive modified SUV users! What the heck, my sons steal it from me for the TJs too, even rock
crawling them! Available at the better auto part stores or visit your local collision repair business and make a
deal on a quart to try out. It takes about a pint to put a good coat on a GC. |

Details: I was one of the first guys to do the 1-inch body lift version of this kit, so
Brennan (the owner) and I worked through some minor problems (fan rubbing fan shroud). You need a 1 inch
body lift and rear CV shaft to do this "belly up" type kit. You also need 1 inch higher motor mounts (yours
or Brennan will sell you his) plus *maybe* 1/4 inch spacers under the mounts.
The skid is much higher than stock, and much stronger. I've high-centered the rig on it so all the weight is on the
plate. No problem. Very stout. I was able to fabricate a way to make my Skid Row oil-pan skid to bolt onto it - the
Metcalf skid is the perfect size and shape to mate up to the Skid Row skid if you just weld a piece of plate on
top of one of the skids. |

Details: I did alot of research I mean alot or research before I actually purchased
Mud tires for my 95 YJ. I looked at such characteristics as handling, noise, vibration, tread wear, and off-road
perfomance. I needed something that would last on 500 miles a week on high way and weekends in the Oklahoma
clay and limestone rock with an occasional trip to the dirt mounds. They are extrodinary on and off road.
They have a nice hum but not obnoxious like BFG MT's or any other mud tire. They are affordable and stylish. They
give my jeep that millitary look I am looking for, by the way if they are good enough for the US millitary to run
on their Humvees and standard equipment on civilian Hummers they are good enough for me. I ve galged them on
Limestone rock without a tear and burried them in oklahoma gumbo and clay without getting stuck. If you only buy
one set of tires this year buy the Goodyear MT's they are cheaper than the MT/R's and they do better in my opinion.

already has the winch plate built in, which also goes back and houses the TJ swaybar, replacing one more cheap piece

Details: A major addition to the phase 1 buildup. You can read anywhere how
much the disconnects do for you off road (they do). These are much higher
quality than others I have seen, and well worth the little bit extra for the
no-bunjee cord approach to keeping the swaybar out of the way when
disconnected. They fit like a glove, no fabrication or modifications
required except for drilling two frame holes for the retaining studs that
eliminate the need to tie-wrap or bungee the swaybar out of the way. |

After install I noticed a vibration while accelerating 2nd thru 4th gear.
Rusty's recomended a 1" transfer case drop, which also arrived with no

|
Details: Purchased from Summit Racing for $200 and UPSed to my door in 24 less than 2 days.
The header is painted mild steel Not stainless steel. PN# 70-1129 (6cyl.) fits
newer YJ and TJ and comes with parts and instructions for both. The install was
simple except cutting the excess stainless pipe in front of the cat
convertor. I would highly recommend a sawzall or die grinder for this. After
install on first start up it smoked all the high temp paint off ( I expected
that). Also the O2 sensor is moved from the left to right side of engine
requiring you to lengthen the harness. Performance is noticably better above
2000 RPM and gas mileage has improved slightly (1-3 mpg). Quadratec also
carries Pacesetter headers, but I recommend Summit for better price and
shipping time. 4 cylinder (TJ) headers are also available from Pacesetter PN# 70-1138. |

Details: Let me start off by saying that I didn't know too much about engine mods
brfore putting this package on my 304. I ordered the cam, non-egr manifold,
and 600 cfm carb and put them on with basic tools and little knowledge with
in the course of one complete Saturday. The immediate improvement in
power, sound and fast starts were amazing. Clearly too much power to be
put into a light CJ-5. The carb was great out of the box, just make sure
that your rusty acc. cable and foot pedal are reworked or replaced. The
only mistake I made was that I ordered a drop base K&N filter which hit the
electric choke. I ordered a spacer to put between the filter and carb but I
never got it to all line up just right. Overall the best product I have ever put
onto a Jeep. |

Details: Just installed the FF1R w/SOC. The product is very well built and fits like
a glove. I waited about 4 months to receive it. There were a couple
things during install you should note: 1. The drilling template dimensions
were NOT accurate. We had to measure and drill our own. 2. I have a
Tomken gas tank skid plate, too, and it had to be CUT to accommodate the
receiver hitch. Aside from install being less than easy, the bumper is
AWESOME. Mine has dual jerry can and hi-lift mounts, too. All look good so far. |

for mounting the spare and a hi-lift jack and 2 jerry cans. everything fit

Details: Since putting this lift kit on the highway ride has been fantastic. This past
weekend was the first chance to take it on the trails. The place we were
able to go amazed us, and much more experienced Jeepers told me the
only thing limiting me was my lack of off-road experience - that where I
was going was just the tip of the iceberg of where this Jeep would allow
me to go. The only complaint is that the sway bars are a bit difficult to
re-connect but apparently as they are used more this will become easier.

E-mail: rquad@worldnet.att.net
|
Details: I bought and installed this lift in an 89YJ, I thought I'd tell ya all about how
it went first of all I'd recomend that you include in your purchase a front U-bolt kit as the stock one will be too short
and the time to find this out is not when your instalation is complete. As for the ride it has very decent road
manners with a single passenger it is a little stiffer more controlled than stock springs. I have a winch on the
front and it handles its weight fine. The whole Jeep settles right down when more people are in the Jeep. I haven't
had it off road yet, but I suspect it will do a fine job. Also for those slightly interested in the coil
conversion, Superlift is building a lift and it will be available soon. |

Company: Tera
Product: BellyUp/TJ Transfer Case skid plate
Model: 97 TJ
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: jeepco@aol.com
|
Details: Be aware that this kit recommends a 1" body lift and requires a SYE and
CV driveshaft. The install is straight forward and only requires 2-3 hours
to install providing the body lift and SYE are already installed. This
upgrade provided over 2" additional clearance from the stock skid plate.
The instructions with regard to the motor mount spacers are a bit vague,
but once you get the pinion angles right, you will be pleased with the
clean look of thet skid plate.
The install requries the use of 1/2" motor mount spacers which may be an
issue to those of you using York compressors, but my York fits fine after
relocating the cowl support rods. |

Details: After finding some minor rust under the (dirty) carpets of my TJ, I pulled
everything, sanded, and got it Rhino lined. I was able to save some money b/c the owner let
me use his tools to tear out the seats, console, etc. Major project, but worth it. I
actually still have those footman hoops in the bed to tie things down, but they
are covered with liner. I've dropped axle shafts, rotors, and heavy tools
onto the liner with no effect. I got my Rubicon type rack lined also, since
I take it off and toss it in the garage - I've dragged that over pavement with
no effect. The liner does transmit heat more than carpets, but not much,
and my dog likes the warm spots. This is good stuff. |

at any speed. It seems closer to 4 inches than 3 inches. This is an "all inclusive" lift -
all eight control arms, track bar (front) track bar relocator (rear), springs and SLE (I
went with an upgrade to the HD output shaft). A lot of money, but cheaper than doing it in
pieces over the long term. The flex on this thing is just unreal. |

Details: If you have read my opinion from April 1, 2000 I said that I would write more
when I had actually tested the locker off road. Well, I have just returned from 3 straight
weekends of wheeling in three different types of terrain. I have tried on a local trail that
was very muddy due to heavy rains that has a couple of steep inclines and ditches and streams
to cross. The locker worked flawlessly! The tail gunner behind me was impressed being able to
see both rear tires spinning. I did not get stuck once and was able to get through a couple
of gnarly sections of goo with no problem. The other guys in my group had 32x11.50 MT's,
compared to my 31x10.5 AT's and had a tough time. I was also able to try out my newly lockered
Jeep in a rockcrawling situation and was able to crawl through plenty of off camber places
with one wheel off the ground, and bump up on other crevices with no problem. One guy asked
me if I was lockered in the rear because he couldn't hear anything! The final place was at
the coast and I could get through the soft, sandy dunes in 2 wheel drive. I am convinced that
this locker is terrific! |

are quite practical as well. The 3/4" shackles can tow anything from anywhere. From
Virginia to Utah to California, I get compliments all the time on them.
The installation was fairly easy, although they weigh a ton. But mine slid right over the
factory mounting holes and bolted right on.
I only have one complaint ... the wait to get them. Six weeks is a long time (and I lived
only two hours from their factory), but once I saw them on ... I knew it was worth the wait!

Details: 2" Spacer lift was easy to install, even for people like me that had no
idea how to do it. The instructions could have been a little more detailed. Was missing the
T-bone for one of the front shocks and had to re-use the stock one temporarily. RE shipped
it out to me 2 day air and was very helpful and friendly about the whole situation. Even
sent me some books, calendars, and stickers. Guess they were trying to make it up to me,
LOL. For anyone looking to add a mild lift, this kit is the way to go. I recommend purchasing
swaybar disconnects with the kit as the stock ones will not fit anymore. Don't wait like I
did, I'm temporarily driving with them disconnected and have a poor ride on the street. |

Details: I shopped for about a year for the right rack and was extremely pleased
with my final choice. I ordered the rack from 4WPW here in Hawaii and it
arrived in about a week. When I opened the boxes to inspect the product, it
was apparent that this was a solid rack. Installation was straightforward.
And it looks great. It is rated at 450lbs plus...while the Olympic is only
rated at 150lbs unless you purchase their extra load carrying accessories.
I've already carried kayaks, surboards, 2x4's w/ no problems. To see how solid
it was, me and a few 200+ pound friends shook, pulled, and 4 of us stood on top
of the rack (on the Jeep). This product is SOLID! Highly recommended. |

On my 97 TJ, I had to try several different positions for the passenger-side clevis pin before
I found a position where it didn't get bent- other than that, no problems whatsoever!

and to the crossmember and makes the Jeep look way custom. I looked at many of these units
before deciding on this one, I felt it was the best value for the money. It has a built in
air tank, reciever hitch and comes powder coated black. I paid $349 for mine, but it is quite
heavy so it cost me $80 to ship (I live in Utah and the bumper comes from the east coast, so
it might be cheaper for those of you who live in the east). The bumper does not come with
instructions but it's pretty self explanatory, and should you have questions the guys at JL
are more than happy to help. By the way, it does not rattle. |

Details: Drove 2 hours from Pittsburgh to 4WD Hardware to pick up the top. Was a nice
day for a ride. Their showroom is great and the service is top-notch. I've ordered quite a
few items from them. The Bestop replace-a-top is great too, and fits perfectly. The only
mildly difficult part is fitting the new skins onto the door frames, but in all fairness,
it was a cool day so they were harder to stretch. The top looks excellent and was only $289.95
with tinted rear windows. Very highly recommended! |

Details: I put the rear hardtop springs on all four corners (have the hardtop and plan
on getting a bullbar and winch combo, about 200lbs) and actually got 3.5 inches of lift.
My stock suspension had the off-road package with the gas shocks. With the OME kit it now
rides even smoother. The lift was just put on and I can't wait to hit the trails and check
out the storied articulation. It took me a lot longer to save up enough and a lot of
restraint to keep from buying a cheaper lift earlier, but well worth the wait. |

E-mail: ted.cacioppi@cliffordchance.com
|
Details: I wanted to beef up my electrical system becuase of a winch, lights, air
pump etc, etc (and possible welding in my future). I put in an Optima yellow top (no room
for duals), and shopped for a new alt. I ended up buying a 175-amp unit from Steve at Wrangler
N.W. (1-800-962-2616). He was really, really helpful and knows his stuff. I ended up needind
a few odds and ends to make it work (upgraded charging cables, Optima side posts, military
spec battery terminals) - he had everything I needed (and a bunch of stuff I wanted).
It's a direct bolt-in, except that you have to shrink wrap and zip tie your old charging
cables up out of the way. I have A/C, and it was very, very hard to wrestle the old unit out
and get the new (slightly bigger and much beefier) one in. I eventually unbolted the A/C
compressor and moved it around without disconnecting the tubes, and worked from the top. I
had to slide it in all backwards and spend an hour rotating it around the right way. I've
also heard you can trim the fan shroud and work from under the Jeep. Once it was in the OEM
serpentine belt fit fine, I connected all the wires in the right sequence, and fired up the
engine - no problems, charged the battery perfectly. Winching is much quicker and easier
now - it takes a longer sustained pull to drain out the Optima and it's much faster charging
back up. I was concerned about messing with the TJ's electronics, especially because I bought
it used with a major aftermarket stereo and a high-tech alarm system, but this was easy and
everything works - I just needed metric wrenches/sockets and a lot of patience getting the
unit in place. |

you might not even notice it is there. On the way to pick up my Jeep I rode in a friend's CJ5

Details: I put in Mountain Off-Road's roll cage upgrade over the weekend. I runs
from the stock TJ's soundbar forward to the windshield, and down through the drain holes,
and has a cross-piece just to the rear of the sun visors. I then bolted on their outrigger
kit, and had it welded to the frame. So now my TJ has a six point cage, with four points
welded into the frame (the stock cage secures to the frame via the body mounts behind
the seat). Given the scope of this project, this was easy - I picked it up from the
painter (MORE only ships bare steel), and had it bolted in ready for the welder three hours
later, without a single unforseen problem. The soft-top door surrounds and padding fits fine,
and I can actually drop the windhsild on the hood much easier than stock - just remove six
bolts and the wipers, no need to deal with removing any cage pieces. The directions were very
clear, detailed, and easy to follow. The soft-top, sun visors, and window handles all work
fine. The welder told me the tubing was standard roll-cage material used by custom and race
fabricators. It seems just as solid as can be, I just hope I never have to test it. |

Company: Bulletproof
Product: Bumpers/rear tire carrier
Model: '98 TJ
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: ted.cacioppi@cliffordchance.com
|
Details: Once they're on, these are the toughest bumpers out there, I'm very happy now.
The rear is a real pain to get on (need to drop the gas tank to get at all the mounting holes),
but it is secured to the frame very solidly - I used it to pull a dead full-size Bronco out of
the woods the day after I put it on. People ask me about that lower hoop in the front
(approach angle), but the hoop provides some steering box protection (maybe tie-rod also).
The tire carrier is great, very secure, no rattles, a Firestick fits right behind the tire,
even with the 3rd brake light on the carrier, and it has a real good Hi-Lift mount. If you're
putting a winch on, do it at the same time as the front bumper, there was no room behind the
grill guard to slide it in (I took the front bumper partially off to install a Warn HS9500i
with Bulletproof's mounting plate). Spend the extra $90 and get the shackle mounts. I have
Tomken's gas tank skid, and I had to get a 3" square notch cut out to be able to put anything
in the receiver (can be done after, bumper will fit). Installations: Front- ten minutes need
only Torx. Rear: Three hours, need floor jack, lots of sockets, anti-sieze compound (for tire
carrier bushing), and a drill for post '97 Wranglers (four 1/2 inch holes in cross member).
Winch install: 45 minutes, would have been 20 if I did it when I put the bumper on, need Torx,
wrenches, zip-ties. Overall: a bit of a pain to install, but more than worth it. |

beefy and easy to install you must check you front end for alignment it

|
Details: Jeep Wranglers were not designed to support most electronic equipment.
The TJ's near verticle glass surfaces and lack of horizontal steel surfaces
minimizes the potential of CB radios and most GPS systems, except one.
The GARMIN GPS III Plus works very well, right out of the box, sitting on the
very limited dashboard of a TJ. After initialization, the GPS III Plus took a
very solid, four satellite fix, and never lost sync for any of the trips we have
taken which includes city, mountain fire trail and open desert driving. It's
amazing. The unit offers you a choice of six screens from a map to an
airplane type display. If you want to get out and hike around, the GPS III
Plus will detach from the dashboard and go with you. It is small and only
weighs 9 ozs. If you are so inclined, you can hard wire the unit, plus add an
external antenna to your Wrangler (I didn't). The GPS III Plus is menu
driven and easy to use if you have basic computer knowledge or can
actually program your VCR. (Your kids can teach you how to use it).
I also tried the Magellan Map 410. It worked well outside of the TJ, but
couldn't maintain sync while inside the vehicle with a hard top. |

nightmare. Every year I rebuilt the carb. I was looking at all the fuel injection kits
that were out there and I went with the Mopar m.p.i. kit. It ran me $1,700. It's not cheap, but
it's the best thing I have ever done to this Jeep. The kit is easy to install; you can do it
in 2 days. I did it in 3 and took my time doing it. The kit comes with everything you need to
install it and the directions are easy to follow. It's really is not as hard as you might
think. The power gains are unreal and my MPG has improved a great deal. Off road I have never
had a problem with anything. It's like having a 4.0 I have the Jacobs ultra team, Borla header
and catback exhaust and with the fuel injection kit, the power is awsome. My neighbor bought a
2000 Jeep Sahara with a 4.0 and we went out for a run and I can walk his on the highway with
no problem. It cleans up all of the emissions that are on the stock 4.2 also. If you're
thinking that's alot to spend on a 4.2, why not do a conversion to a 4.0 or V8? I thought
about that and it sounds alot harder and I would have spent a lot more than $1700. Also, the
4.2 has only 10 less ft pounds of torque without the kit than a 4.0, so with the kit you will
have more torque than a 4.0. |

will come off. If they are so rusted that they snap off, you have serious problems. |

Details: I ordered the Firestik Jeep Hood mount from my local distributor. I only have
two things that I see can use improvement. First, there was no parts list. Second, in order
for the mount to be level, it must be bent 5 to 8 degrees. This is not a big deal if you
use a vise, just time consuming. Overall I am very happy with the product. |

new tire and I hadn't heard any testimonials, but I had read 2 articles on them and both
liked the tires. So I shelled out 700 bucks for a set, and after using them hard off-road for
about 3 months now, I can say that it was money well spent! They grip extremely well in rocky
areas and dirt. They have good floatation in sand as well. Although I haven't had them in mud
yet, I'm sure they would do great. The sidewalls seem to be very tough. On 3 seperate
occasions now, I thought for sure I was going to rip through the sidewall while driving
against large, sharp rocks. The tires pulled through with out so much as a gouge! They do
howl on the freeway, but it's not too bad. I personally like the way they sound! Well worth
the money! |

even a soft top like me for the cargo room on large camping trips. It still allows you to
use your soft top functionally. The arms arent attached to the body in the rear for
supporting weight, they are attached to the frame! About the weight it can hold, ask yourself

$35. I have no vibration at all and I didn't have to drop the transfer case
either. The shocks that come with the kit are a tad stiffer. All the spacers
are the same size. RE should have made rear spacers 1/2" shorter to help level
out the vehicle. Even from the factory, the rear sits higher. A bag of cement is a
quick fix though. |

unique feature that allows only bass to rear speakes while fronts get
higher tones. Sound is awesome, can't wait to replace speakers. Also
don't let dealer fool you this won't void warranty since it plugs not splices

Nobody but nobody believes that they are really Pirelli's. They have

add) and recently went wheelin' with the Tri-State Stump Jumpers. These
guys are nuts! Steep hill climbs, thich brush, huge drop-offs and unlike

Details: I own an '87 YJ Wrangler, this Jeep was sick, and with only 30,000 on a new

devil of a thing called a carter bbd with stepper motor. Well, first I replaced the
stock ignition with a Jacobs ignition system, hey that helped a bunch {and no closed
loop crap]. Next I removed about 30 pounds of emissions garbage lines, switches, hoses,
valves, all of it. Next I installed the new Weber, and man someone just turned on the
light. The Jeep now runs like it did just on the first barrel, get the RPM's to 2500
floor it and the tires will break loose when you hit second gear. I would highly
recommend these mods to anyone with a sick six. P.S. You cannot remove the computer,
because it controls the wipers on Jeeps with delayed wipers. {Ii had to dig it out
of the trash the next day because it rained}. With the converter still on, the
Jeep will now pass most states emission tests, but would not come close before. |

mounts is JM200. The mounts come unpainted. The mounts position the small block Chevy
engine in a very good location. There is room to use a long version small block Chevy
water pump, and the large size HEI distributor.
In my installation, I was required to use 3/8" spacer washers between the CJ frame
and the motor mounts. I think my frame is not to factory spec, could be bent some.

Company: H&R (thru Performance Products)
Product: 1" lift Sport Springs
Model: '98 TJ Wrangler (don't recall model #)
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: BrewJeep@aol.com
|
Details: Excellent progressive coil springs if you're after a mild lift. The
Performance Products catalog claimed a 1" lift, but I saw 1.25" lift in the
front and about 1.4" in the rear over the standard OEM springs. I've had
them in for 8 months now with virtually no sag.
I've got the Dana M44-3 rear axle and 5-speed tranny and have had no
vibration at all. Ride with the H&R's is a little stiffer than stock due to the
higher spring rates, but bottoming is greatly reduced. Cornering is about
the same as stock. The stiffer springs seem to offset the increase in ride height.
Although the H&R springs do not come with instructions, installation was
easy. Just be sure to have the proper Torx wrenches and sockets handy.

E-mail: million@spawar.navy.mil
|
Details: hile installing the RE 3" lift in my TJ, the notion of lowering my
transfer case to eliminate rear drive shaft vibration really didn't make much
sense to me. (The whole purpose of the lift is to gain ground clearance, and
add articulation. It felt like 2 steps forward and 1 step back.) So after
reading about it in various magazines I gave the guys/gal at M.I.T a call, and
they had what has turned out to be the perfect solution. (For me anyway)
Their Slip Yoke Conversion Kit along with a CV Driveshaft, not only
completely eliminated any vibration, but also allows for better
articulation, also if disconnecting the rear driveshaft becomes necessary (due
to breakage) It can now be accomplished without losing the fluid in your
transfer case, which you'll need to get home!! I highly recommend this product,
and M.I.T, to anyone looking for a solution to this problem and any other
driveline problem you may encounter. Their customer service is awesome, and
they will go to great lengths to help you out, even over the phone. |

Details: If you're wondering where to start with your Jeep buildup, and you're
new to the offroading game...This is the do-it-all offroaders' tool! You can
winch with it, clamp with it, jack with it, pry with it, bridge with it, get a
strength-building/aerobic workout by using it(LOL), brace a bent tierod with
the handle, use the handle as a breaker bar, 100 other uses...only an
imagination and some simple accessories required. It has saved my bacon a few
times, and is ALOT cheaper than a winch. A definite must-have for anyone heading
off the beaten path. I even used it just a couple of days ago to remove a
stubborn trailer ball from my receiver hitch. Just keep it well-lubed with
water-resistant boat-trailer wheelbearing grease, and cover it when
not in use, if possible. I also got so stuck once that 4 Jeeps combined
couldn't pull me out. With just a little jacking and filling, I was soon moving

you have atleast 7 feet of cable (for TJ's). It is a simple install, and
it really works great! So far it's the best cheap improvement I've made!! It's
an excellent add-on, but save your money and make your own...because it's
exactly the same thing except 1 or 2 pieces that can be improvised easily

Details: The Thor Soundwedge speaker boxes are great! The speakers are positioned
between the rollbar and the rear wheel well, and that is just the right place
to get the surround sound effect from the driver's seat. I also found that
the speakers now deliver more bass than they used to becuase they are in a
better position. The price, I thought was a little steep ($99.00 for the
boxes only), but I soon found that they are well worth the price! The only
thing I suggest is to get a good set of 6x9's to place in the boxes. Don't buy
expensive boxes and then cheap speakers - your money might as well
have been burned! By the way, installation only took about 20 minutes
and that included taking the speakers out of the old speaker boxes they were
in! Great product! |

repel water nicely. I still have to towel them dry after a soaker, and the
outer foam and stitching retain enough H2O to dampen your pants, but they
dry very fast. I bought all black and they still stay cool after a day in the sun
-- big improvement over vinyl. Splurge for the customs though -- I bought
a universal (cheaper) cover for the fold & tumble, and the one-piece with
lycra sides/rear just looks like a seat cover while the custom fronts look
more like custom upholstery. |

Company: Rusty's Off Road
Product: 3-inch suspension lift
Model: Jeep TJ
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: brulej@aol.com
|
Details: I installed my lift a few weeks ago, and have since been on a couple of
trail runs. I thought my TJ was impressive before the lift, now I can
hardly believe it! Rusty is a great guy who will work with you to get you
what you need for your Jeep. We put together a customized kit, and it
performs great, and a great price. To buy what I have from any other company
would have cost me much more, and probably wouldn't perform as well. On
road performance feels as close to stock as you can get in a lifted
vehicle. Off-road, with sway bars disconnected, the axle droop is excellent!
Most lift manufactures produce very good products, and many of them are
comparable on, and off road. That being the case, save yourself some
money, help out a small business, and a great guy...get Rusty! |

Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: brulej@aol.com
|
Details: I purchased a set of Boulder Bars for
my '98 TJ a couple of months ago. I installed them alone, but it would have
been helpful to have another person there. They are very strong, and I
often times find myself resting on them, then sliding off the rock. They
also can be used as a step. They attach to the frame of the Jeep, and
therefore do not reduce your ground clearance at all. The finish is black
powder coat (I think), and can be very easily touched up with a rattle can. I
highly recommend them with no reservations! |

Opinion: Excellent!

|
Details: Greetings from Alaska, I'm currently running the first
"production" set of Revolver Shackles on my '84 CJ-7, in conjunction with a
TrailMaster 4" lift, and 1" M.O.R.E. body lift. With 33" BFG MT's,
I earned a score of 1200 on the 20 degree RTI ramp! Mind you, this is a
"spring under" Jeep! Revolver Shackles are an outstanding addition to ANY leaf
spring vehicle! And...for the Gonzo crowd, they WILL work with shackle reversals
or sprung over vehicles too.
You'll need longer shocks and brake lines, and in some cases a rear CV
driveshaft, but the results are outstanding. Nice and stable on the
road with outstanding articulation off road. Who needs a spring over? Not
me! I can and do go every where the SOA converted Jeeps go, and with more
stablilty. You'll amaze those guys!
At around $530.00 with shipping, they aren't cheap, but are bulletproof and
well worth the money. I'll never go back to conventional shackles! |

completely agree with the post. I was a little short on money and
replacing my radiator just wasn't an option, so I decided to give the

get nervous about over-heating. This was quite some time ago and I still
havn't changed the radiator (but soon!). |

Details: After looking at several rocker panel guards, I finally settled on the Sun
Performance guards because of their complete coverage - both top side and below.
On top, the guards do not have the "notch" common on other CJ guards behind the front
fender. Rather, these guards completely cover the side panel between both fenders. On
bottom, the guards extend about 6" under the body the entire length between the front and
rear fenders as well.
The 3/16" steel guards are held in place with 10 fasteners each. All of the hardware
and simple instructions were included. Just add drill and common sense... |

Details: This company is great to work with. Leon Rosser jeep has been a great
company to buy things for my Jeep. I recently went online and purchased
warrior 1-1/4" shackle lift for my YJ, and when the package came, I was
surprised to see only the rear shackles in the package. I opened up the invoice
and it said that the front were on backorder and that made me bummed a
little, then I saw that they went out of their way and special ordered it for
me instead of waiting for it to come, and the best part was there was no
extra charge to me. Also when the front shackles got here, I noticed that Leon
Rosser Jeep had paid the shipping and handling for me. It was an all around
great experience. |

Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: rabidk-9@prodigy.net
|
Details: Great tire! They're long lasting! I like them so much, I'm on my third set.
I had one set on my old YJ and now I'm on my second set on my '97 TJ.
Tough tire that holds it's own in all areas...on and off road. They perform well in mud,
snow, rain, dirt, rock, and sand. Believe me I know, I've been there! Aggressive tread
pattern with plenty of voids to sling mud through or grab rocks with.
The Dunlop 35's actually measure 34.1" x 13.1" making it shorter
than normal 35's, but wider. This is a good tire for someone looking for something in
between a 33" and 35" tire. |

turn-signal guards. Installation was easy and, eveything was packaged nice, too (the kits

Details: Overall, what a difference! Air intake and filter were a snap to install,
nice sound too (it whistles when you punch it). Looks good and the few
people whom have seen it want one. The exhaust on the other hand is not
quite what I was expecting, still it is very nice. High quality pipes, and
BIG. 2-1/2 O.D. Sound is nice, though the whole thing just seems loud
now. Installation was a pain. Factory clamp was too tight to turn, ended
up having it done for me. One last thing have about 10-12" cut off the tip
end of the pipe before you install it otherwise it kills your depature angles. |

Details: I received the part from Off Road Warehouse here in San Diego 5 weeks

company to make the part because they are made-to-order. But it was worth the
wait. I decided to install it myself with the help of a friend to hold it in
place while I put the bolts through the hinges. It took about 3 hours.
Everything fitted like a glove and it looks great. It holds my 33x14.5 tire
on a 15x10 inch rim comfortably. VERY rattle free. It also carries 2 gas
cans. Very good product. I recommend studying the instructions before
installing it. |

installed this ignition. A little retard on the timing and it fires right up, I have
gained at least 15 horsepower, and my mileage gain is 4 MPG! Off idle torque is
definately improved, and the carb does not bog as bad when climbing steep hills. I
love the timing control, I use it alot more than I thought. The only thing I did not
like were the non-specific instructions, and I lost my tach. They offer a part to get
it to work again, but its like $50. |

Company: Cross Enterprises
Product: Rear Bumper Tire Carrier
Model: 98 TJ
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: million@spawar.navy.mil
|
Details: I just installed the rear bumper and tire carrier that I purchased from
Cross Enterprises. I was concerned that the quility wouldn't be that great due to the
much lower price tag compared to Bullet-Proof and Currie. But after receiving it, I couldn't
be happier. Installation was a snap (with the exception of the left side, inner set of bolts).
Pretty tough to get to, but with the right number of extensions and swivels, it's possible,
without dropping your fuel tank. All the welds are top notch, and it's very stout. And one
of the more important things to me was their are NO RATTLES. One other thing, the people at
Cross are very very helpful, they called me just to let me know that my bumper had been sent
to be powder coated and how much longer it would be till I received it. (Which was a week
earlier than expected!!!!) How often does that happen?? Overall I would say it's money very
well spent. |

Details: I recently replaced the entire sides on my '85 CJ7. The replacement sides
included the front support, the support for the door, and all of the preset
fasteners (resembles a truck bedside replacement). I found the panels easy
to istall and I highly recommend this product. Total cost for both panels was
$250.00. The only drawback is removing the old sides and welding the new ones
in place. This requires a little work but so does a fiberglass tub replacement or
patch panels. If any one needs more information on Certifit, contact me by e-mail. |

Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: srb0615@mail.ecu.edu
|
Details: This kit really has the most bang for the buck. It is one of the few truly
complete kits on the market. I installed mine in Jan. 99 and at first was really disappointed.
The Jeep rode rough and had a lot of bump steer. However, after about two weeks when the
springs started to settle (original lift height was around 4"!) down to the
advertised height of 2.5", it gradually rode much better and with little bumpsteer.
The best thing I like about it is the FLEX!! It comes with extended brake lines and long
travel shocks. With all swaybars and track bars removed (don't need em) it had an RTI of
well over 600. Since then I have modified the spring clamps to the "open" style, fabricated
1.5" longer shackles and extended shock mounts for the front. With these mods in place, I
recently ramped an 890! Not bad for a spring under that rides and handles well! |

still shining brightly. They have more than paid for themselves by now. |

Details: I have had this winch on my '98 TJ for over a year. This is a good winch for
the TJ as there is no room for an extra battery. With the two-speed in "high", the
IN/OUT speed is 52 feet/min so you can respool the 100 ft. of cable less than two minutes.
The only draw back is that the engine must be running (no motor=no winch). It will winch
all day and never overheat. I have winched a 3/4-ton Ford up a 75-foot sand dune and
could still put my hand on the winch motor; it was warm, but not hot. |

Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: djschmit@pacbell.net

Details: America's Tire sells a road hazard warranty with their tires. I seriously
questioned whether they would honor it, they assured me they would, and
they do! Cut a tire off-road, bring it back, for the price of a new warranty
they replace it and mount and balance it. So far, in 1 year, I've spent a
total of $138 for warranty ($17.25 X 8) and have had three 35x12.50x15
BFG mud-terrains replaced with zero hassle. That's less than $50 a tire,
mounted and balanced. If you have a store near you and you ever ruin a
tire wheeling, I highly recommend them.

Details: I was looking for an inexpensive way to cool down my '99 2.5L Wrangler TJ,
so I ordered this thermostat and gasket together with my Rock-IT Air Tube from Turbo City.
I had to visit the local auto store to get some RTV also. It really suprised me that it
cooled off my engine alot, from about 230 to 180 on my temp. gauge. It also warms up the
engine quicker, so it didn't affect the performance of my heater. |

Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: adehart@sdds0.es.hac.com
|
Details: Their spark plug amplifier is the easiest
way to upgrade your ignition system. It is as simple as changing your spark
plugs. All claims they make for performance, gas mileage, and reduction
of emissions are true. My Jeep idles better, accelerates better from idle to
5000RPMs, and I went from 10MPG to 11.5MPG with my AMC304 V8. All I added
were new spark plugs and the DirectHits amplifiers. It even starts easier. |

definitely worth the price (which was inexpensive for rims). Plus, for those
of you who like the look of your tires sticking out past your fenders a couple
inches these rims are for you. I have the 15x7's mounted with Brigestone
30x9.50x15 inch tires which are great for city driving and the occasional
offroad. Highly recommend these rims and tires for the novice Jeep enthusiast on
a limited budget. |

Company: Weber
Product: Weber 2bbl carb
Model: 258 CJ7
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: ddqhorse@bellsouth.net
|
Details: My 1985 CJ-7 w/the stock 258 had a carb problem. I was tired of
rebuilding. I ordered the Weber, got it in a few days from a mailorder
catalog. I installed it in a couple of hours. After setting the choke and idle,
it has performed wonderfully. The fit of the adapter plates was excellent.
The only word of caution though; read the instructions a couple of times
before starting. The adapter plates look similar, but if not put on correctly,
the carb will not mount.

Model: N/A
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: Wisard1@pacbell.net
|
Details: I went to buy a Super Axle 35 from Drivetrain Direct and had a mishap
in which they ended up with 27 spline axles instead of the special 30 by Lockrite.
Instead, they offered my a great deal on Detroits and Superior Gear alloy axles. WOW!
This combination is awesome. I feel like a tank rollin' down the road, and fearless up
or down those gnarly hills with deep trenches all the way. Those guys are great,
especially Pat, Dave, or Jason. If anything goes wrong they make it better, not just right.

Company: Bestop
Product: Replace-A-Top
Model: 97-98 Jeep TJ
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: richbob1@earthlink.net
|
Details: I recently had to replace the soft top on my 98 TJ due to a large dog
romping across my hood, fenders and top. After reading the reviews of
Steel Horse crap here, I decided to go with Bestop's Replace-A-Top. What
an outstanding product! The fit is better than stock, the quality is
unsurpassed and the instructions are detailed and to the point. One point
of caution though: Be careful when pulling the canvas over the
windshield header after attaching it, the tight fit could pull out a
screw...trust me. Also have some patience when replacing the fabric on
the soft doors, it takes a bit of work. Go with Bestop if you ever have a
marauding dog trash your top. It costs a little more, but is well worth it!

Company: Hansen Enterprises
Product: Front bumper
Model: CJ7
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: funcj7@aol.com
|
Details: Bomb proof. This bumper will out-last my Jeep without a doubt.
I mounted a Ramsey REP8000 to it. On my way home from Easter Jeep Safari '99,
I stopped at Salt Lake to winch out a Bronco; the bumper held up fine, although the
Bronco's weight ripped my frame mounts. Needless to say it's the strongest part
on my highly modified Jeep.

Company: Jacobs electronics
Product: Jacobs Magnum Pack
Model: Magnum
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: Wisard1@pacbell.net
|
Details: I was reading (forgot his name) criticism on his Jacobs electronics
system. It certainly hasn't made all the changes in my 2.5 they promised, but
I am satisfied with it. My 2.5 starts faster, purrs at idle, and is really
noticable at 3000 rpm, and kicks in nicely over 30 mph. My plugs are gapped
at .050 and I haven't had a problem with it. Gas mileage is about the same, but
I didn't really care if it was improved or not. My hunch is he go a bad unit or
was expecting miracles. If you have the money, buy it, but if you need other
things first, buy them!

Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: cbrown20@erols.com

Details: Easy installation and look great. I've already had to use them to jack up
my Jeep as it was 'temporarily motivationally challenged' while high-centered in a large
mudhole. I recommend them highly.

Product: Truck Plugs
Model: N/A
Opinion: Excellent!

The truck fired up quicker, idled smoother, and seemed to have more power than with the

Company: Jacobs Electronics
Product: Jacobs Ignition
Model: OmniMagnum for 2.5L TJ
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: 5337@usa.net
|
Details: I just read that vadams@ didn't like his Jacobs. I just had to pipe in and
say that I LOVE IT! I too had to place the spark-gap near stock, and though
the performance gains were moderate, the other benefits made it well worth
the money to me.
I was very tired of pulling up to a stop sign and having the engine hesitate
very badly when I went to take off. Jacobs fixed that, and a rough idle I
had. Throttle response is also much better. No offense, vadams@, but I totally disagree. |

Company: Turbo City
Product: Rock It air tube & K&N Filter
Model: N/A
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: vadams@ap3c.com
|
Details: The Turbo City Rock-It Air Tube, along with the K&N filter, made
a huge difference in acceleration on my 2.5L TJ. For $120 and about 20 min. for
installation, it is definitely worth the time and money!!! It even adds a little
throaty intake snarl that sounds good. Cannot wait to try the exhaust and throttle
body!!!!

Company: Cross Enterprises
Product: Bumper and Spare Tire Carrier
Model: N/A
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: simi4wheel@aol.com
|
Details: This bumper and tire carrier are beyond
excellent! The unit is constructed with 1/4-inch wall steel tubing,
beautifully welded, and powder coated gloss black. The system mounts to the
frame of the vehicle, not to the body. The pivot for the swing out carrier has
a sealed bearing, so it's super smooth and easy to use.
I have really hammered on this unit. It has survived several trips to the
Rubicon, the Dusy trail, and the Tierra Del Sol Safari. I have also used it to
extract full size trucks stuck in the mud. Full throttle slams on the tow
strap have not even fazed this bumper. It is way beefier than anything else
I've seen, including Tomken and Currie, not to mention the fact that the price
was lower! You cannot go wrong with this setup!

Company: M.O.R.E.
Product: 1" Body Lift System
Model: YJ
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: bluesky@mgk2000.com
|
Details: The 1" body lift system is a great product. We had it on in 4 hours, most
of that time was spent breaking loose the rusted body bolts and planning the
attack. The poly bushings are a must, its worth the extra money. Good
directions and great people over at M.O.R.E. Installed on 95YJ with 2.5l.
Hint: With the 2.5L you don't need to trim or move the fan shroud.

Company: BFGoodrich
Product: Mud Terrain (standard rubber)
Model: 30x9.50R15
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: Kmndobnny@uss.net
|
Details: I recently switched to these after getting stuck in mud and snow with
same-size BFG ATs. They did the trick. They are just as durable as the AT's(they
blow Goodyears away) and seem to be as quiet on my YJ if I use rims that keep
them under the flares. When siped they do better than my ATs on snowy/wet
roads. I have yet to try them in deep sand (where a rounder shoulder may be
better), but they do perform well on rocks. For a daily driver, these are tough to beat.

Details: These axles were the best replacement for those 2 piece stock axles.
Whose idea was that anyway?!?! The axles went right into place with no

for both sides. If you do any type of off roading you need to get these.

Company: Jacobs Electronics
Product: Omni Magnum
Model: For CJ w/ 258 6 cyl.
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: tmcmillion@nimbuscd.com
|
Details: I bought a used '79 CJ7 in excellent condition w/ stock 258 w/ newly remanufactured Carter BBD, T-18 4-speed, everything is stock.
From all I've read about the stock carb setup mine ran surprisingly well BEFORE
I installed the Jacobs ignition, but performance was pretty lame, especially top
end. I read good reviews on Jacobs so decided to go with it, though pricey ($300+).
I first installed Jacobs full Omni Magnum team (plug wires, coil, etc.) it still
ran at least as good but no real performance improvement. Next I installed new
Autolite plugs with wider gap, again without a noticeable change. I was getting
a little disappointed at this point. BUT, then I advanced the timing in increments
up to about 10 degrees BTDC (actually I think before adjusting timing it was initially
retarded a bit, no pun intended), and that's when things got interesting. It has
noticeably improved performance, especially top end, and gas milage on highway appears
to have increased from about 12-13 up to about 15 MPG. I don't know if I'd call it
"seat of the pants" improvement like one review I read, but definitely noticeable.
I like it alot and would highly recommend it, but check the specs on all their systems
to make sure you only buy as much performance as you need. In retrospect I'm not sure
I needed the Magnum coil that supports revving the motor over 6000 RPM, when I'll never
push it that hard. As you might expect, the key to this system in my experience is the
ability to advance beyond the stock setup without the valves pinging. Note: Don't expect
this alone to turn your stock CJ into a high performance machine, but the performance gain
was definitely worth it to me.

Company: Rancho

Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: utah@email.com
|
Details: Along with the Teraflex 3" lift, I put on the RS9000. The
ability to change the stiffness of the shock is great. It has tremendous

they're backed by a great warranty.

Model: TJ
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: utah@email.com

Details: This system is GREAT! I highly recommend it for he/she who is looking
for a good, solid lift that is relatively easy to install. I did it myself in about
12 hours (this is my first one). Teraflex has a great name and they back up their
product. Mepco is a great place to do business with.

Company: Rubicon Express
Product: RE 3" lift
Model: XJ
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: MoPure@webtv.net
|
Details: Off-road performance is exceptional in my '90 XJ due to
the 3" RE lift. I ordered the adj track bar and swaybar discon's also.
The ONLY thing I would've done differently is the rear add a leaf. It's
a little too stiff for my liking. I'm going to convert to a 2" add a leaf
and a 1½" block. I believe it would be better both on and off road. The
instructions were great and the staff was very nice and helpful. I
recommend Rubicon Express highly.

Company: AJ's
Product: Fiberglass Bodies
Model: AJ's Deluxe Gel Coated CJ Bodies
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: kowalski@tdi.net

Details: After lots of research, we purchased a replacement body for our CJ-5.
We went with AJ's deluxe gel-coated tub, fenders and hood.
Purchased through Leon Rossers. Took about 8 weeks to receive.
Excellent quality including fit and finish. Looks like the best on the
market!! The delivery crate was even 1st class. The structure is solid,
thick fiberglass, many sheets of plate reinforcements, and the "core" is a
special material that will not seperate or warp.

Company: MSDS-Martin Schneider Design Systems
Product: TJ Ram Air Cleaner System
Model: TJ Air System
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: supergrover1@worldnet.att.net
|
Details:Big difference in acceleration! Have 1998 TJ with 4.0 and five speed.
Unit runs $149, includes metal tube that bolts and clamps where factory
mounts are, with a wicked looking K&N style ram filter. Had to put old box
back on for a water pump problem at dealer and wife even commented
how sluggish the Jeep was! Glad to have it back now. When I have
cruise on, Jeep actually stays at speed going up slight inclines on
freeway in overdrive. Old box would lose 10 mph and pedal would go to
floor. Best I've seen yet, and coolest looking!!!

Company: California Tops
Product: Soft Top
Model: N/A
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: gpn4evr@aol.com
|
Details: This is by far the best looking top I have ever seen. For most jeeps there

aftermarket tops that I have seen.

Company: Rubicon Express
Product: 4" Suspension Lift
Model: YJ
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: gv3rd@aol.com
|
Details: The lift was fairly easy to install, having never done
a suspension lift before. The kit came with everything I needed to complete
the lift. I only had to buy a dropped pitman arm. I got 4 new spring packs,
new shocks, transfer case lowering kit, poly bushings, quick disconects for swaybar,
extended brake lines, new u-bolts, and axle shims. I added a shackle lift and
put on 33" tires with tons of room to spare. Without the shackles still had
tons of room with 33's. The ride is stiffer than stock, but that's expected
when lifted. Overall it is a great product.

Company: **ARB**
Product: Safari Snorkle
Model: Safari Snorkle
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: hogantc@brawleyonline.com
|
Details: I sucked water into my motor a few years back because the air intake on my
YJ is right behind the left headlight. Never mind the water only came up to
the bottom of the doors. The install is a little stressful at first, when
you see the "gash" in the side of your beloved Jeep. An air hammer,
sheetmetal shears, and a grinder made it all fit. If you can afford to
purchase the recommended tools (that cost more than the snorkle), then it
would be easier. It looks sharp and you can't see it from the driver's seat.
ARB was very helpful with all my questions. I purchased it from the TLC
parts place in Tenn. They told me it would take a week and I had it in
3days. |

Details: I have landed VERY hard on rocks with these (i.e. after sliding several

changing back to my street tires.

Company: Jacobs Electronics
Product: Omni Torquer
Model: Omni Torquer
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: kileyc@chand.com
|
Details: If you want more performance you need this. I wanted more power and gas
mileage from my '94 wrangler. The torque increase was considerable and the gas milage
went from 13 to almost 16 mpg. I still need to advance my timing some, I think that will
improve the performance even more. It's expensive but worth it.

Company: Rubicon Express
Product: TJ 2" Lift Kit
Model: RE7030
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: dpbaker@iquest.net
|
Details: I ordered my kit from RE on a Monday and received it on Thursday. I
upgraded to the Doetsch-Tech DT3000 shocks for $30 extra. Kit includes
four 2-inch spacers, bump stop extensions and shocks. Install was very
straight forward. Maintains much of the stock ride characteristics of the
TJ and shocks are slightly more firm but still good on the street. Good
value for a $230 lift and really is needed with 31-inch tires.

Company: K & N
Product: K & N Air Filter
Model: RU 3610 Universal Round Tapered Air Filter
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: jeeperz@mediaone.net
|
Details: This filter is very similiar to the one Turbo City sells in their
kits. It fits the stock air tube going to the throttle body.
Simply remove your stock airbox and filter, cut the air tube
with a hacksaw, clean off the burrs with a file, make sure
the inside of the tube is clean, and clamp on the new filter.
Be sure not to cut the tube too short. K&N part # is RU-3610.
Be careful how much you pay though, the first place I went
wanted $52, the second place charged me $27 + UPS. This is a
factory order and took 1 week.

Company: Mountain Off Road Enterprises
Product: '97 TJ 1" Body Lift
Model: N/A
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: jeeperz@mediaone.net
|
Details: Body lift was easily installed by myself in a few hours. Kit
was complete, no missing hardware and detailed instructions were included. Customer service was
excellent. Most difficult part of the installation was relocating the fan shroud and trimming to fit around lower
radiator hose (a soldering iron makes this easy and works much better than a knife-no sharp edges). Also installing the
transfer case shifter relocater bracket was a pain but not impossible.

Company Tuff Country
Product 2.5" CJ Suspension
Model CJ7
Opinion Excellent!
E-mail kmndobnny@uss.net
|
Details This susp. pleasantly surprised me. I
broke the rear springs on my '78 CJ7 and needed a quick replacement - had no money
due to school. I ordered from them because their springs were the cheapest
I found, other than stock. They were delivered in 2 days and installed in 1.
For just over $300, I got 4 new springpacks, U-bolts, 'thane bushings, &
transfer drop...delivered to my door. Hardest part of install was OE removal.
I had to buy longer shocks that day, and a while later got larger bumpstops. The
springs actually rode and flexed better/quieter than my stock packs, and
the lift was min. enough to forego the transfer drop w/o vib. or driveshaft probs.
I also didn't need a drop pitman arm or longer swaybar-disconnects, and spring
wrapup was min. w/32s. Seems like a decent deal to me.

Company: JKS Manufacturing
Product: Telescoping Track Bar and Quick Disconnect Sway Bar Links
Model: N/A
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: liflongstu@aol.com

Details: Bought both products from 4 Wheel Parts
Wholesalers (best 4-wheel shop around). Unmatched axle articulation! With the
sway bar disconnected and the lock nut loosened on the track bar, I've been
able to reach places my friends couldn't come close to. Installing the
track bar also allowed me to remove the annoying tower extension that came with
my Rancho lift kit (no more clunking and welding). Both products are a cinch
to install.

Company: Tuffy
Product: Tuffy Security console
Model: N/A
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: Bignorm9@aol.com
|
Details: If you own a Jeep, buy a Tuffy console. They are worth every penny if
you carry anything of value in your Jeep. I have a CJ7 with some nice stereo equipment
that has been broken into four times. The first time all my stuff was stolen and I
learned a lesson. I bought a Tuffy and mounted all my equipment inside. The next three
times all the thieves got was pissed off because they didn't bring a blowtorch with
them. Tuffy builds a wide variety of literally "bulletproof" lockable storage compartments
for every Jeep. If you want your stuff to be there when you get back, check out Tuffy!

Details: It is true that you must drill holes to use this product, but the customer

when they arrived in two days! This product has been tested by several
large boulders and has only scratched the powder coat so far.

Company: ARB
Product: Old Man Emu
Model: 2.5 Inch Suspension Lift
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: mwalt@sunnet.net
|
Details: This lift is the best I've seen for articulation and smoothness of ride.
People that ride in my Jeep are amazed at the ride and quality of the lift.
It actually lifted the rig 3 to 3.5 inches rather than the 2.5 inch they
advertise. On the rocks, in the mud, or jamming down a washboard trail,
this suspension is without equal. It is expensive, but in this case you
really get what you pay for.

have my battery and other various underhood necessities my neighbors are
now missing. Only costs a few bucks but discourages the thieving morons from

set off most alarms and cost the idiot valuable time. Installed in minutes.
Need to enlarge hole in most bras and bugscreens for use.

Company: Centerforce
Product: Dual Friction Clutch
Model: For T150 3 spd
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: kmndobnny@uss.net

Details: Installed this in 79 CJ7 (258 I6, 32" Gumbo Mudders). Expensive, but never needed
another clutch for the rest of the time I owned that Jeep. Hookup was extremely
improved over stock. Simple install - even included throwout bearing
and pilot bushing, just needed an alignment tool. For bigger tires/high power, it
helps.

Durable urethane bushings.

Company: Rubicon Express
Product: 5.5 " RE XJ Lift
Model: N/A
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: jeepers2@bellatlantic.net
|
Details: The articulation is awesome, I can
easily score 1000 on the ramp. Very
little vibrations between 40-45 mph
drives perfect at highway speeds. The
transfer case must be lowered approx 1
inch. Also be sure to buy longer front &
rear brake lines. The lift itself is the
4.5 inches, but with a 1-inch coil spacer
for the front & a larger block for the
rear. Also try using Daystar shackles
for the rear, it gives an additional 1-inch
and the rear flexes better.

Company: Rubicon Express
Product: RE 4.5" TJ Lift
Model: 4.5" Ulitmate lift with CV
Opinion: Excellent!
E-mail: cmar@aecsoft.com |
Details: This kit is awesome. It addresses every
issue in lifting your TJ. The handling
is better. Every part is nicely
powdercoated. The kit takes a long time
to install but is not to difficult.
There is no need to drop your transfer
case. There are no vibrations. The
ride is a little stiffer then stock but
still very nice. The Jeep drives like
a sports car now, yet has tons of
articulation off-road. It's the most
expensive kit for TJ's but you are really
getting what you paid for.
